Pat is committed to securing the border once and for all. As a farmer and rancher with multiple properties, including a ranch along the Southern border, Pat has seen the devastation of the federal government’s open border policy firsthand. Pat will fight for additional fencing, manpower and technology along the border, and he supports Governor Abbott’s float system in the Rio Grande as a deterrent to illegal immigration. Pat will also file legislation calling on the federal government to reimburse Texas for the cost of securing the border.
For decades, local leaders have fought efforts to allow dairy farmers to dispose of manure that pollutes the City of Waco’s water supply. In the early 2000’s, both the city and the county spent over $65 million to try to make our water safe and drinkable again. As State Representative, Pat will fight tooth and nail to make sure dairy farmers and other upstream industries are permanently banned from doing anything to pollute our water supply. He will also work with these industries to address their concerns without harming our area. Water is one of our most valuable resources and must be protected at all costs. For years, McLennan County has lacked a strong voice in the Texas Legislature when it comes to protecting our water.
As a local business leader, Pat is committed to lowering property taxes on Texas families and businesses. Pat understands that Texans will never receive lasting property tax reform without lowering appraisal caps, demanding greater accountability from local appraisal boards, and developing a long-term plan to eliminate property taxes once and for all.
As a local, and long-time farmer and rancher, Pat has deep roots in the local agriculture community. While urban encroachment threatens our local farmers and ranchers, Pat will fight to protect private property owners against abusive eminent domain and improve local quality of life for rural residents through projects like expanding rural broadband.
Pat is a life-long gun owner and Constitutional conservative who believes wholeheartedly in defending the 2nd Amendment. He will fight stricter control measures and all efforts by Democrats to trample on your God given right to defend yourself and family.
Pat is PRO LIFE! A dedicated family man with strong Christian values, Pat believes that life begins at conception and will lean on his Faith when making decisions for our families in the Texas Legislature. He will fight to stop the woke agenda and the left’s indoctrination that threatens our way of life.
A strong public education system is critical to the success of our state and country. A product of local public schools, Pat will fight to improve public education, increase teacher pay, and take care of our retired educators. Pat is an ardent supporter of teachers and the public school system and helping students realize their highest potential in their chosen field. He is committed to working with our 17 school districts to strengthen their ties to family and business and work together with TSTC and Baylor to help every parent and student in the community, rather than a few.
